Breaking: iOS 26.5 Now Live, iPhone 18 Pro Leaks, and WWDC 2025 Preview
iOS 26.5 Released with RCS Encryption and More
Apple this week released iOS 26.5 to the public, bringing end-to-end encryption for RCS messages between iPhone and Android users. The update also introduces a 'Suggested Places' section in Maps and a new Pride Luminance wallpaper.

Industry experts call the RCS encryption move a major step forward for cross-platform security. 'This closes a long-standing privacy gap,' said cybersecurity analyst Sarah Chen.
iPhone 18 Pro: 11 Reasons to Wait
Despite industry-wide memory shortages driving up costs for Android rivals, Apple is expected to keep iPhone 18 Pro pricing aggressive. The premium models, launching in September, will feature incremental improvements over the iPhone 17 Pro.
Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo predicts Apple will absorb cost pressures to maintain market share. 'They're betting on volume over margin,' he stated.
macOS 27 Leaks: Redesign and Tab Groups
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports macOS 27 will sport a 'slight redesign' to improve readability of the Liquid Glass interface. The update also includes a Safari tab grouping feature that auto-organizes open tabs.
'The design tweaks make the interface more intuitive,' Gurman noted. These features will be previewed at WWDC on June 8.
Apple Watch Series 12: What to Expect
The next Apple Watch is rumored to launch in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro. While design changes are unclear, leaked code suggests Touch ID may appear, though a leaker disputes this.

Apple Watch Ultra 4 is also expected. No new SE model is likely, given the recent update cycle.
Background
WWDC 2025 is less than a month away, shifting focus toward OS updates like iOS 27 and macOS 27. Historically, Apple launches hardware updates in the fall, with software previews at WWDC.
This week also saw changes to Apple's education pricing program in some countries, and a Steve Jobs commemorative coin briefly surfaced.
What This Means
For users, iOS 26.5's RCS encryption enhances privacy in cross-platform chats. The iPhone 18 Pro's pricing strategy could spur upgrades despite economic headwinds. macOS 27's tab grouping promises better workflow organization.
Developers can expect more details at WWDC, where Apple will outline the future of its ecosystem. The competition between Apple and Android manufacturers is intensifying, with Apple leveraging aggressive pricing amid shortages.
